Working MLM the Right Way

Be assured, Network Marketing is a different formula than the one generally called a pyramid.

The general public tend to view the latter as one where people at the top make all the money, while those at the bottom do all the work.  Network Marketing however, is also called, referral marketing, cooperative marketing, MLM or multi-level marketing.  It is a business model that is meant to reward you for helping others become successful themselves

People, who are much wealthier than I am, have abandoned what used to be called the "contact friends and family" philosophy, also called the warm market, decades ago because they know it puts undue stress on families and strains relationships. The root cause of this is actually the pitching of a program, or product, without fully understanding it or it's potential.

Folks are often drawn to the network marketing business for financial independence, but in their haste to succeed, they lose track of what the concept is actually all about. Therefore, we must first learn how to develop what I call, a "You" brand, with your network marketing business strategy. Providing useful information, blogs, articles and newsletters, so good prospects will become interested in what you are selling or promoting, effortlessly. You must set the example, and do more than every member of your team. Participate in every webinar you can find pertaining to your business, or even webinars about self-improvement. Attendance in all the events offered by your main company, if you can, is mandatory. If you don’t, why would anyone else on your team? To be a leader, you must be a professional, and get the knowledge about your network marketing offerings so you'll find success to pass onto others. Know what you are doing so you can teach others how to do it

Hello Upline, are you there?

Where oh where, has my upline gone?

This is the most annoying, frustrating, and maddening part of MLM, and Network marketing.

I know more than one time, no matter what program you are involved with, your upline has done a complete disappearing act on you. I case you're new to this term, and upline is the person, persons, or thing that refereed you to what ever marketing community you are participating in.

As a member, you are called the downline. Everyone you bring in under you is called: your downline, and you guessed it, that make YOU their upline. That's the beauty of these systems, no one stays at one level the whole time.

Uplines usually start out with the same enthusiasm as all of us, but something happens along the way. It could be a number of things. The difficulty in bringing in referrals is a big problem. It can shake you confidence in your sales ability, and in the system itself. Having to spend too much on auto-ships can take the luster of quickly, even make you question the products, or services, you are pushing. But, the number one reason I see is laziness on their part.

Let's face it. We all get into these online systems for one main reason. The Good Life! The, I wanna sit around the pool drinking Pina Coladas all day. Who wants to sit on the phone, behind the computer, or in a library somewhere answering the same questions all day? No one.

But, you have to. That's the nature of the business, so make yourself available. Help your downlines, because
remember one thing, they make you other downlines, and that is what it is all about.

Is an Autoship Necessary?

Marketers new to MLM always ask why do companies require a monthly autoship?

Well, it is Because the members would not buy all of those offersif it was not required of them.

I have had several autoships, and have enjoyed the commissions they brought me, but these same autoships are the reason why many recruits qive up on their MLM opportunity. The autoship requirement gets to a point where it becomes a money drain on their finances. Month after month they pay, but if they can not at least cover their autoship costs with their earnings, then one day they simply say: “I quit!”

Now to limit the pain of paying for an autoship, some MLM companies offer a free component, something like, “your autoship is free if you get 3 customers.” Wow, sounds like a great idea, especially if it is so simple to get customers that anyone can do it, However, there aren't many companies that have a product, or service, with such a huge target market, and a price that is so affordable, that should one of your 3 customers (who is qualifying you for a free autoship) decide to drop out, you'll feel little pain while you're replacing that customer.

But, truthfully, what usually happens to the average person is: They join an MLM company positive that everyone they know, will look at the product, and the income opportunity, with the same open mind, and eagerness, that they had when they were first introduced to it. WRONG! As soon as they realize that it’s going to be harder to recruit other members than they thought, they alter their goals.

The new goal, instead of quitting their job, or the brand new car, or the shopping spree they had planned on, now becomes getting 3 customers, so they don’t have to shell-out for that unrelenting autoship.
That seems like a small goal, and for some folks, it’s easy; but for most, it’s a struggle. They'll listen to their team calls, and watch the training videos, they'll keep their motivation high, trying to get that 3rd one.

Then they will relax. They will feel like they deserve to relax, well maybe they do, but it really is too early to slow down. I liken it to climbing a mountain, and when you finally reach the top, you just relax, but you're there at the very edge of a cliff, because if just one of those three people decides to postpone their autoship, then the free autoship is gone. They’re back paying again. Just imagine this cycle repeating itself over and over again. It’s this kind of frustration that drives people out of the MLM business.

It is my opinion therefor, that selecting a good product, one that you can use yourself, is the way to go.  Don't trouble yourself with it being more expensive than somewhere else. This is your business and any money you spend will come to you multiplied.

Here is a company that has many useful products.

It's Not Too Late

I just glanced at the calendar and much to my surprise I realize that 2012 is almost over. It's seems like just yesterday I was putting my Winter clothes away and preparing for Spring, and now the warmer outfits are coming back out.

The next wave of terror that hits me is the fact that my year's work is now coming to a close. But, I calm myself, and set my attention to the task at hand: finish 2012 on a positive.

There are 3 steps I will put in place to insure there is no break in my efforts.

1) Keep doing exactly what I am now doing. Like, keeping my posts current, and informative. I can not miss a beat in my routine, it has to be almost automatic. I must always find time to write.

2) Keep up with my online training. It is the bast training I have ever received. The nights are getting longer now, and outdoor activities are over, so I can bury myself in my learning.

3) Continue searching for a mentor. Surrounding oneself with smart people, who have succeeded in our fields of endeavor is what all the "Gurus" do. It is impossible to do everything by yourself, so reach out to the masters of the industry, Leave no stone unturned.

Until next time, stay hungry my friends.

How to succeed in MLM

Can you guess what the number one complaint MLMers hear is? It's downlines (folks who sign-up below you) angry that their sponsor (you, the upline) never communicates with them.

Imagine. Would you want to make money for someone who gives no support, or any kind of assistance? Of course you wouldn't. Well, it is the same thing with the affiliates you sponsor. If they feel you do not care about them, they will not want to build their businesses because they will not want to see their hard work benefiting some stranger they never hear from. I'm sure you don't want your downlines feeling the same way.

If you're having success signing-up affiliates and then leaving them to figure MLM out for themselves, just quit your business right now, because you are guaranteeing your own failure. See, every affiliate that you sponsor is a virtual goldmine for you. You must embrace  that only if THEY succeed, do YOU succeed. The importance of understanding this rule can't be stressed enough!

I agree it's true that you can't MAKE the affiliates in your downline successful (they must want that for themselves), but don't let them ever say that you weren't there for your affiliates!

The correct start is opening up good lines of communication with all your downlines. This is the way to teach them how to succeed in MLM, and the right way to build relationships with affiliates.

Set up some kind of greeting for your affiliates. This is an easy, automatic way to get off to a great start in building relationships with your affiliates.

After that, you'll want to create some form of regular, ongoing communications, to stay in touch, provide training, and share ideas. I, and many successful MLM experts, recommend a weekly,or maybe even every-other-week, an e-mail using the autosponder system that is supplied by the main compnay. Just enter your message, hit submit, and it automatically sends the message to all of your PSAs (personally sponsored affiliates) and CSAs (co-sponsored affiliates).

If you're new to MLM and/or business in general, you may feel you have nothing to teach your downlines. No sweat. If you take advantage of what I've been sharing in this blog, and following the training most good MLM companies offer, you will learn and grow into the leadership role over time, however, what you must never do, is allow your affiliates to think their sponsor (you) is uncaring. If you do that, if you do not support your affiliates, success will be a thousand times harder to attain.

Learning about Internet Marketing

Internet marketing is not overly complicated but it is also not a process in which anyone can excel without making attempts to learn more about the subject. Business owners who do not know a great deal about Internet marketing but who wish to implement Internet marketing into their overall marketing strategy should carefully study the basic principles of Internet marketing before launching their online marketing campaign. Fortunately for these business owners there are a variety of options for learning about Internet marketing. These options may include online research, reading published books and studying successful Internet marketing campaigns.

Researching Internet marketing online is one method which can be used for learning more about this topic. This type of research can be very informative and can provide the business owner with a great deal of advice and other information. However, it can also provide the business owner with a great deal of misinformation. When researching any subject online it is very important to note that not all of the information available online is accurate. This may be due to a variety of factors including content which is written by those who do not have a great deal of knowledge about the subject matter as well as content which was written years ago and is outdated. This can be frustrating but fortunately business owners can still learn from the Internet. This just means they should be more cautious about accepting information as being accurate and may wish to verify the information they obtain before implementing an Internet marketing strategy.

Published books are another valuable resource for learning more about Internet marketing. There are a variety of books available which focus on this subject and provide a wealth of useful information. When selecting a book for use as research material it is important to seek out a book which received independent reviews which were positive. It is also important to seek out books which were published recently. This is important because the Internet marketing industry is evolving continuously and a book that was published only a few years ago may be outdated and may lack information on some of the new developments in the industry. The appeal of using published books to learn about Internet marketing is you can keep the books on hand for easy reference when you launch your Internet marketing campaign.

Finally business owners can learn a great deal about Internet marketing simply by studying successful Internet marketing campaigns. Try the Internet marketing blog at My Global Income for some great starter tips. If your business offers products and services in a particular niche consider entering relevant terms in popular search engines and studying the websites of some of the highest ranking businesses. This can provide you with a great deal of insight into what these business owners are doing which may be contributing to their success. Examining everything from their website design to their search engine optimization strategies and even the content on their website can help you to determine why they are more successful than you. You should also consider how they are marketing their website which may include banner ads, affiliate marketing programs or other types of advertising. Armed with this information you can take the opportunity to implement changes to your own website and marketing strategy which may help you to gain a greater degree of success. Care should be taken to not copy anything directly from your competitors but to rather try to emulate their degree of success in your own way.

Internet Marketing for Beginners

Internet marketing for beginners is somewhat of an oxymoron. This is because while in theory the concepts behind Internet marketing might be quite simple, executing effective strategies can be extremely difficult. This can even be tough for those who are quite experienced in the world of Internet marketing. With this in mind, this article will attempt to explain the concept of Internet marketing for beginners and will outline some basic strategies which can help a business owner to launch his own Internet marketing campaign. We will cover concepts such as creating a website, placing banner ads, sending out e-newsletters, orchestrating an email marketing campaign and optimizing your website for search engines.

One of the most basic steps for starting an Internet marketing campaign is to create a website. If you don’t have a website or have a poorly designed website you should consider creating or re-designing a website to adequately market your products. If you do not have experience in web design, there are a number of software packages which make it simple for those with no design experience to create a functional website. However, hiring a web designer is worthwhile because he can work to create a website which is attractive, functional and suitable to your products and series. He can also help you include more advanced features on your website.

Banner ads are another popular option for advertising your business on the Internet. Banner ads are advertisements which typically appear along the top of a website but it may also include smaller ads in other locations. Banner ads typically include graphics and text which entice Internet users to click on the advertisement. Once a user clicks on the ad, they are directed to your website. This type of advertising can be very effective when care is taken to place the advertisements on high traffic websites which attract an audience who may have an interest in your products.

Sending out e-newsletters can also be a part of an effective Internet marketing strategy. E-newsletters are essentially emails which may contain a variety of information including informative articles, useful quizzes, relevant advertising or any other information which is deemed worthwhile for the recipients of the e-newsletter. The importance of these newsletters is that they can be used as marketing tools which are not viewed by the recipients as an advertisement. One way to do this is to incorporate links or other soft sale approaches into the copy of the e-newsletters. However, care should be taken to keep these references minimal so the e-newsletter is not viewed as spam.

Email marketing campaigns can be another successful aspect of an Internet marketing campaign. Email marketing essentially involves sending out emails to a group of individuals who may be interested in your products and services. Care should be taken in sending out these emails to avoid sending emails which are unsolicited and will be viewed as spam. One way to do this is to only send out the emails to users who have requested inclusion on an email mailing list. Another way to do this is to provide value in the emails as opposed to just including advertisements. This can be done by offering relevant advice in your emails and other useful information which may be of interest to the recipients of the email.

Finally, optimizing your website for search engines is a critical aspect of an Internet marketing campaign. Search engines rank websites according to quality and relevance for particular search terms. Many Internet users appreciate the effort by search engines and use these search engines to find the best websites on a particular subject. This means the Internet users are likely to only visit websites which rank well with search engines. Therefore if your website is not high ranking, you are not likely to generate a great deal of traffic from Internet users who use search engines to find relevant websites. Top ranking websites are likely to obtain the most traffic from search engines and all websites falling on the first page of the search engine results will likely enjoy some degree of success in improving their traffic
